Allyson Hartfield

Allyson brings a wealth of experience and a lifelong passion for horses to Summerwood Stables.

She began her equestrian journey riding western trail and gaming horses before transitioning into competitive English riding. During her time at Brock University, she was a dedicated member of the Hunter Equestrian Team, serving as president in her final year.

With more than 20 years of racetrack experience, Allyson worked as a licensed assistant and rider for International Hall of Fame trainer Roger Attfield. She continues to contribute her expertise at Thoroughbred sales across the U.S. in collaboration with Taproot Bloodstock. Her diverse background also includes assisting renowned dressage trainer Debbie Hill, where she developed a recent focus on classical dressage.

Dedicated to ongoing growth, Allyson trains regularly with Canadian Pan American Games rider Beatrice Boucher, as well as other Olympic-level riders. These experiences continue to refine her skills and broaden her perspective across disciplines.

Allyson’s training philosophy is centered on creating harmony between horse and rider. She is committed to helping each partnership thrive by improving communication, balance, and mutual understanding.
