Marissa Thompson is one of the top-ranked young riders in Central America. She began riding at the age of five and quickly rose through the ranks, earning multiple consecutive national titles in the Children’s and Junior divisions in Panama.
Her international career includes top placings at the South American Championships in Chile and Argentina, a Circuit Championship title at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), representing Panama at the 2017 Bolivarian Games in Colombia, a top 5 finish in the 2019 FEI World Challenge, a gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a 7th-place overall finish at the 2023 Caribbean Games, a result that qualified her directly for the Pan American Games.
